Here at Dizzy Ducks we are a huge fan of the Boho design trend and the wall arch colour block technique! Those warm earthly tones teamed with rounded geometrical simple shapes look so good alongside the green houseplants and the 1970's vibe of rattan furniture. What is there not to love?!
Creating those arch patterns can be easy peasy using our Boho Arch Wall Stencil. Why not team up with some chalky wash paints to create a warm textured look.

HOW TO STENCIL
1. Decide how high you want your arch to be then position your stencil on the wall using masking tape to keep it in place. Use a spirit level to make sure it is straight.
2. Apply paint using a small dense sponge roller making sure not to overload with paint and cause bleed. The larger the stencil the floppier it can be, so you may need to hold the stencil down with your fingers as you work to make sure it stays flat on the wall as you apply the paint.
3. For the sides of the arch, apply painter's masking tape vertically down each side. You can then paint the inside of the tape to create the whole arch shape.
Basic stencil instructions are included with each purchase. But please doGet In Touchif you have any questions at all.
LESS IS MORE! The number one mistake most people make when stencilling for the first time is using way too much paint, this leads to bleeding under the stencil, and no one wants fuzzy lines! It’s surprising how little paint you actually need. Apply a small amount of paint to your roller, and then roll off any excess paint on a scrap bit of paper/card. Your sponge needs to be touch dry, so paint only comes through when you apply pressure. The same applies when using a stencil brush. Practice first on some spare paper or card before attempting your project.

Arch stencils in various sizes solved a decorating conundrum. My new house has a flight of stairs 20cm less wide than my previous house and I wanted to apply washable paint on the lower part of the wall which often was scuffed in my previous house. Even if family members leave a few marks I’m hoping the design will hide them to reduce cleaning. The arches also are easier to apply at a 45 degree angle up the skirting board/stair stringer. V pleased with the result.
I haven’t finished the project yet, but the stencil worked really well. It’s good quality and I’m so pleased with the result so far …. Will post an image when it’s complete.
Arrived quickly but the bottom inside edges are warped slightly. I can still do my project but will have to do it in multiple stages from having to tape down where its warped.
It ripped the paint off as I peeled it back! May have been something I did wrong and not the product itself but followed the instructions. It overall helped make a smoother edge but after a lot of touch ups!
